Meet Our Staff

Megan Adams

Megan Adams

Megan Chance Adams was born and raised in Westfield, NJ. She became involved with horses at the age of 9, and took lessons at Watchung stables. At the age of 16 she started working at the stables assisting with caring for the horses, and at 18 began instructing.

Her love of horses has taken her many places. In the summer of 2003 she graduated from Meredith Manor International Equestrian Center with high honors, including honor roll and presidents list throughout her time attending, as well as being selected most outstanding rider by the teaching staff. From there she moved back to NJ and spent a year working for and traveling with Frank and Mary Chapot. Chapot, who passed away in June 2016, was an American equestrian who competed at six Olympic games. His wife Mary was also a fellow Olympic rider. Together they raised horses at their farm Chado Farm, including legendary Gem Twist, who was named world's best horse at the 1990 World Equestrian Games in Stockholm.

Megan holds a riding master VI certificate, and is a level II certified Riding Instructor. Megan is also a certified trainer through 2nd level and a certified equine massage therapist. Her experiences and love for traveling brought her to Washington, NC, where she co-managed a small lesson and boarding stable until 2008. Since then, she has been training and teaching students and horses independently. She works with all levels of horse and rider to help them reach their individual goals. Her philosophies include teaching a rider the fundamental building blocks they need to achieve a balanced seat, so they can excel in any tack or discipline. She also works to open up the communication barrier between horse and handler, so that the handler has complete control on the ground in any situation. You can find her now working at Farm Life Stables in Williamston, NC.

Brooke started taking lessons from Brittany Roberson and soon began her horse show career. Brooke has continued her lessons under Megan Adams and brings what she learns back to her beginner lessons. Rhea and Sue Butler

Rhea and Sue Butler

Rhea and Sue Butler are the hub of this barn. Their initial investment and dedication to making this barn function definitely does not go unnoticed. Both retired, they now reside in Littleton, NC at Lake Gaston. They can often be found hanging out at the barn working hard on the electrical, plumbing and painting projects. They are often the unseen heroes of the barn. They enjoy watching their grandchildren enjoy the farm and enjoy the family atmosphere that has been created here.

Garland and Jamie Butler

Garland and Jamie Butler

Garland and Jamie Butler are the proud owners of Farm Life Stables. Jamie has been a horse enthusiast since she was young and Garland is supportive of his girls and their love of horses. So much so that he sold his house, and moved to the farm. Jamie can often be found doing barn chores and cheering on children as they learn to ride at our farm and Garland can almost always be found in his “big blue tractor”. He is a dedicated farm hand and makes sure that grass is mowed and poop is moved. This farm is a dream come true for Jamie. We welcome you to our Family here at Farm Life Stables.
